Carpel tunnel is where the main nerve in your wrist (the medial nerve) becomes pinched by neighbouring tissue like tendons, bones, and ligaments. It's compressed so you lose fine motor skills (among other things) in your hand(s). It is caused by repetitive movements such as drawing, typing, writing, etc. Also, by sleeping with your hands flexed. Fun fun. I do all of those

One of my friends has carpel tunnel...her hand just randomly gives out and won't work sometimes. It's weird.
I hope something's able to be done to keep the pain at bay.

By the gods I'm so sorry to hear that. My grandmother had carpel tunnel on both wrists and she had to have surgery.
